Night at the Abbey!

Yesterday evening we met a man on a bicycle... As we were talking he asked us where we would be spending the night. He told us that Saint Bede's Abbey was a mile or so up the road. We continued to walk and came upon the lane to the Abbey and Academy. We walked in the doors and Mom and I went to find someone. We walked into the kitchen and talked to a nice lady told us to have a seat. After a few minutes the Father of the Monestary welcomed us to dine with them. They fed us Ham, green beans, sweet potatoes and Chocolate cake!;) they were some of the kindest most generous people I believe I have ever met! I believe there was around 9 or so Monks living there. They fed us breakfast and gave us fresh veggies for the road;) You couldn't help but see The Lord in them!

  1. Enjoyed your comments about St. Bede Abbey. It was great to have you with us. There are 19 of us monks, but at the moment, only 10 of us are at home. Some are visiting family, in summer school, etc.
